Marseille, a city of nature and its many parks
Marseille is located in a unique location due to its climate and geography. This is a good reason to take a walk in Marseille and enjoy the 700 hectares of green spaces spread over 68 parks and gardens. 53 of these parks are over one hectare in size and 15 parks are over 5 hectares in size. Some are full of history but all of them are full of charm! You will love the Jardin de la colline Puget, the oldest in the city, as well as the Parc du 26ème Centenaire, inaugurated in 2001. And whatever the park, it is always a pleasure to enjoy the coolness of the shaded lawns, especially in summer.
Children will particularly appreciate the gardens in Marseille, which offer shaded areas, particularly appreciated in summer. There are also many children's parks in the Phocaean city: we count no less than 132 of them!
Here is a list of little nature spots in the city, perfect for picnics and walks!
Also think about renting a bike or why not take a Velib de Marseille to explore the city's parks. For the more sporty, these many parks will be the perfect place to run in Marseille in the heart of nature. Segway rental is also very popular thanks to the playful side that will please every member of the family.
