A panoramic view
The Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, symbol of the Phocaean City, will give you a 360° panorama of Marseille. You will even be able to plan the itinerary of your walk with your fingertips. The interior of the Basilica is also worth a look! You will be impressed by the many paintings and interior ornaments. Once the visit is over, go down to the Vallon des Auffes, a small Provençal port, perfect to relax and recharge your batteries. If the sight from la Bonne Mère was not enough for you, then go and see the horizon through the Porte d'Orient.
Route from Notre Dame de la Garde to Manousque
Then follow the coastline through the coves of Maldormé and La Fausse Monnaie. You can then take a break from the tide gauge. You can then teach your fellow walker that the "tide gauge was installed in 1885 in Calvo Cove on the Kennedy cornice. It was used to measure sea level 0 and igitur, it was used to know the reference level of all marine and topographic maps. Once in Malmousque, why not put your towel on the rocks to enjoy the view of the Friuli islands. Soak up the view, take a deep breath of sea air and then attack the last portion, the one that will take you back to the Basilica.
If you are too tired, simply walk along the Corniche to the Old Port.
