Prophète Beach

On the Corniche Kennedy, below the road, is the beach of the Prophet, one of the oldest beaches in Marseille and one of the most popular.Crowded in the summer, it is a joy for both young and old people.

The slope of the sea being very gentle, we can walk quite far away, and the children love it. A Beach Volley field awaits the most adventurous, while the area has all the amenities, first aid station, showers, snacks and refreshments.
This place is very popular with families and regulars in the morning, before turning in the afternoon into a meeting place for all Marseille residents from here and elsewhere.
Picnics and aperitifs, in the evening young people come from all parts of the city and improvise moonlight parties to the sound of djumbés who never fail to resonate on the summer evenings. As a result, the beach can have many cigarette butts, which can be a bit disheartening.

It is not the cleanest beach in Marseille, nor the one where you come to find turquoise water. We come to Prophète Beach for the friendliness, to tease the volleyball for a while before contemplating the pretty women from Marseille who came from all over the city. It is the beach of summer, for its days and evenings.

How to access it?

By bus
It's very simple, the beach of the Prophet being close to the city centre of Marseille, the easiest way is to take the bus to the Old Port (line 83) and get off at the "Le Prophète" stop.
That's it, and it's time for a nice walk around the Marseille seaside.

By car
Please ask the "Bonne Mère" to find one of the few parking spaces available on the Corniche and around the beach.
